THE HENRY JONES ART PRIZE 2024

ENTRIES ARE NOW CLOSED

The Henry Jones Art Prize is a key initiative by The Henry Jones Art Hotel to support and promote Tasmania’s emerging, contemporary artists. With a prize pool totalling over $40,000, the prize is divided into two major categories—Painting and Mixed Media—each awarding $20,000 to the winners.

The hotel, known for its dedication and passion to support Tasmanian artists, houses almost 500 evolving works from both emerging and established Tasmanian artist as a working gallery. The Henry Jones Art Prize not only provides substantial financial recognition but also offers a platform for artists to launch and develop their careers.

Visitors to the exhibition can engage directly by purchasing artworks and voting for their favourite pieces for the People’s Choice Award. The artist whose work receives the most votes will be awarded $1,000. Additionally, the Packing Room Prize, selected by the hanging team, will grant one artist $750.

The 2024 winners will be announced at a gala event on 20 November, and the public exhibition of finalists will be on display from 21 November – 3 December in The Packing Room and Atrium at The Henry Jones Art Hotel.
